Keynote Speaker for Summer Conference

     Dr. Joe Sanfelippo is the Superintendent of the Fall Creek School District in Fall Creek, WI. The Fall Creek School District was named an Innovative District in 2016 and 2017 by the International Center for Leadership in Education. Joe holds a BA in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from St. Norbert College, a MS in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a MS in Educational Leadership, and a PhD in Leadership, Learning, and Service from Cardinal Stritch University.  Joe is also an adjunct professor in the Educational Leadership Department at Viterbo University. Joe has taught Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, and 5th Grade.  He was also a school counselor and high school coach prior to taking on an elementary principal position in 2005.  He has served as a principal in suburban and rural Wisconsin.  

                    Joe started the #1minwalk2work Leadership Challenge, and co-authored The Power of Branding-Telling Your School's StoryPrincipal Professional Development: Leading Learning in a Digital Age and Hacking Leadership: 10 Ways Great Leaders Inspire Learning That Teachers, Students and Parents Love.  He was selected as 1 of 117 Future Ready Superintendents in 2014 and 1 of 50 Superintendents as a Personalized Learning Leader in 2016 by the US Department of Education. He attended summits at the White House for both distinctions. Education Dive named Joe 1 of 5 K-12 administrators to watch in 2018 and their National Superintendent of the Year in 2019. He has been a featured speaker in multiple states in the areas of Advancing the Use of Social Media for School Leaders, Telling Your School Story, Creating a Culture of Yes, and Personalized Professional Growth for Staff.  Go Crickets!!

 Dr. Robyn Conrad Hansen is currently an Assistant Professor of Practice at NAU. Her areas of research interests include, but not limited to, Educational Leadership, The Principalship, Health and Wellness of Administrators, International Education and Leadership, Distributive Leadership, Administrator Professional Development, Teacher and Administrative Evaluation, Systems Thinking, Strategic and Organizational Development, Ethics and the Law, Special Education, School Budgeting and Finance, as well as, Critical Issues in Educational Leadership. 

Prior to joining the NAU Faculty full-time, Robyn served as President of The National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) in Alexandria, Virginia representing 65,000 elementary and middle school principal nationally and internationally. 

Dr. Robyn Conrad Hansen was the principal of Playa del Rey Elementary School from 2001 to 2016. Playa is a three-time Arizona A+ School of Excellence, a Title I Rewards School, and has earned an “A” Label from the Arizona Department of Education for academic achievement. In the spring of 2015, Playa del Rey was honored by the US Department of Education as a Teach-To-Lead Lab School. Prior to leading Playa del Rey, she was the assistant principal at Highland Junior High School from 1999 – 2001 and Highland High School from 1993 – 1999 earning the Assistant Principal of the Year Award in 2000 sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

Robyn was recognized as Arizona’s National Distinguished Principal of the Year in 2010 sponsored by the National Association of Elementary School Principals.

In 2016, she was honored to serve as the President of the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) representing 65,000 principals in the United States and around the world.  Robyn served three years on the NAESP Board as the Zone 9 Director representing the 8 Western United States, as well as Guam and Island of Samoa prior to being elected President.  

She completed her under graduate degree in education from the University of Wisconsin and her graduate degrees at Northern Arizona University (NAU) in Educational Leadership. Currently, she is an assistant professor with Northern Arizona University teaching leadership classes at the Masters and Doctoral level in the College of Education.

Robyn has presented at over 30 state and national conferences, as well as at the CEESA Convention in Dubrovnik, Croatia (2015), Bogota, Columbia (2015), the Association of International Schools in Africa in Cape Town, South Africa in 2016, and two visits to Pristina, Kosovo supporting American International Schools serving families of the US Embassy. 

Dr. Conrad Hansen has a sincere desire to work with today’s youth and school leaders.  Cultivating an educational environment that is rigorous and relevant, rich in real life experiences taught by world-class educators preparing them for a career that excites them for a lifetime, better enabling them to be the leaders of tomorrow. 

Robyn is happily married to James Hansen. Together they have four adult children, Brady and Blake Conrad with daughter-in-law Megan, and Tyler and Samantha Hansen, with daughter-in-law, Emily and son-in-law, Thomas. They have four adorable grandchildren, Kayla,Jameson, Sue, and Avery! Robyn and Jim enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and touring the country on their Harley-Davidson Motorcycle.
